Mechanism of credit holidays, originally intended for participants in the Special Military Operation (SVO), may also be extended to those who defended Russian territory against armed invasion. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered corresponding amendments to be made to the legislation. The list of instructions was published on the Kremlin website.

Additionally, President Putin instructed that credit obligations be waived for individuals who died while defending against armed invasion.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has been tasked with this responsibility and is required to submit a report on the implementation of the directive by July 1, 2026.
