New Car Prices Drop by 2% in January

In January 2026, the average price of new passenger cars in Russia fell by 2.1% compared to December 2025, reaching 3.5 million rubles ($46,000), according to Autostat (a leading Russian automotive market research firm).

During the same period, the average price of used cars increased by 0.5%, reaching 1.34 million rubles ($17,600).

There was also a decline in the number of auto loans issued for new cars, which fell by 17% year-on-year. Conversely, the number of loans issued for used cars rose by 10%.

Overall, new passenger car sales in January dropped by 9.5% year-on-year, totaling 80,604 units.
