Deripaska Says Starting Price for Domodedovo Airport is Overvalued Threefold

Domodedovo Airport, valued at $5.2 billion, is being offered for sale at a price of $1.7 billion, a nearly threefold overvaluation that has drawn criticism from businessman Oleg Deripaska.

"Setting aside legal aspects, how can you try to sell something worth 40 billion rubles for 130 billion rubles? Who is the genius behind this idea, I wonder? This is happening at an interest rate of 18.5% and an exchange rate of 77 rubles to the dollar. As they say, our Klondike has been slightly frozen over the past two years," Deripaska commented on the situation in his Telegram channel.

• The first auction for the sale of Domodedovo Airport, priced at $1.7 billion, was declared invalid due to a lack of buyers. Subsequent auctions will be held in a Dutch auction format with a reduction to 50% of the initial price.
