The Second Western Military Circuit Court, which is hearing the case of the attack in "Crocus City Hall," is preparing for a new judicial stage - the interrogation of all 19 defendants, reports TASS, citing its source. The state prosecution has completed presenting the evidence. On Monday, December 15, the court will begin the direct interrogation of all defendants.
For the first time, during a closed court session, the defendants will be required to give testimony on the substance of the charges against them. Previously, the state prosecution presented the court with a complex of materials collected by the investigation, detailing the tragedy that claimed the lives of 149 people (one person is still listed as missing).
The attack took place in the evening of March 22, 2024, in Krasnogorsk, a town near Moscow. Four armed militants opened fire on concert hall visitors and set the premises on fire. The immediate perpetrators, who tried to hide on Ukrainian territory, were detained in Bryansk region. Later, their accomplices were also identified. The investigation into the alleged organizers and other involved individuals continues.
The entire judicial process, due to the exceptional level of security threats, is being conducted in a closed session, without access for media representatives or the public.
