A 52-year-old woman suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, while her male colleague had to jump from the second floor to escape the spreading smoke and flames. Their current condition is still being determined. Market staff describe the beginning of the fire as sudden. According to eyewitness reports, the fire started on the second floor. Based on current information, the market administrators managed to quickly and efficiently organize the evacuation of people from the dangerous area. At present, firefighters are continuing to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire will be determined after an investigation. According to the Saint Petersburg branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, by 19:22, the firefighters had managed to contain the blaze. As a result of the fire, one man was injured and was hospitalized. A total of 100 people were evacuated from the dangerous area. In the firefighting operation, 26 pieces of equipment and 96 firefighters are involved.
