In Russia, during the last month before the new rules for calculating the scrappage fee took effect, the sale of new cars decreased by 22.8% compared to October, down to 127,920 units. At the same time, year-on-year sales increased by 5%. As reported by "Autostat".
In November, the leaders in sales were Lada (-17.5% month-on-month), Haval (-31.2%), Tenet (+14.9%), Geely (-32%) and Belgee (-22.8%).
Market experts note that sales fell in November partly because there were no discounts, October was the last month when cars could still be purchased with good discounts. At the same time, the expected change in the rules for calculating the scrappage fee (effective from December 1) cooled demand for cars imported through parallel imports, buyers were afraid they would not be able to bring and register the cars in time.
