A potential holding company could emerge on the Russian alcoholic beverages market, uniting the assets of major spirits and alcohol producers «Rosspirtprom» and «Tatspirtprom». The plans to merge the assets of these producers were reported to «Kommersant» by sources in the alcoholic beverages market.
It is assumed that both companies will continue to operate autonomously after the merger. The holding will be based in Kazan. According to experts, the combined assets will amount to 28-33 billion rubles. The deal will allow «Tatspirtprom» to strengthen its federal-level positions, while «Rosspirtprom» will gain an additional source of raw material sales.
- State company «Rosspirtprom» was established in 2009. It gathers eight distilleries in the Tula, Kursk, Novosibirsk regions, North Ossetia-Alania, and Kabardino-Balkaria.
- «Tatspirtprom» was founded in 1997 by the government of Tatarstan on the basis of functioning liquor and vodka enterprises in the republic: Usadsky and Kazan Liquor and Vodka Factories, Usadsky and Mambasyan Distilleries, and the Vigrosso winery.
