In response to the militaristic rhetoric from EU countries, Russia is forced to prepare for confrontation with NATO, despite not wanting it. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the statements by the German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who said that an armed conflict between the two sides could begin in the next four years.
"Similar militaristic rhetoric is increasingly heard from Europe. In Russia, there are no supporters of any confrontation with NATO. But we are forced to take measures to ensure our security," emphasized the Kremlin representative.
Peskov clarified that such statements do not improve the situation.
