Seven suspects have been detained in the case of the disappearance of cryptocurrency trader Roman Novak and his wife Anna in the UAE, according to a source in law enforcement cited by "Fontanka".
According to the source, three of the detained are suspected of organizing and committing the murder, while the other four acted as intermediaries. The measure of restraint for the alleged killers of the Novak couple will be determined on November 7.
The investigation believes that the couple arrived at a rented villa in the outskirts of the city of Hatta at the invitation of a potential investor under the pretext of discussing joint work. The main goal of the criminals was the businessman’s cryptocurrency wallet. However, after gaining access to it, it turned out to be empty. After that, the couple was killed, their bodies dismembered, packed into bags, and hidden.
- Earlier, it was reported that the Russian Investigative Committee had initiated a criminal case under the article "Murder of two persons" in connection with this incident.
