Russia Increased Import of South Korean Fish by 50%

In the period from January to September 2025, Russia imported 6.2 thousand tons of fish from South Korea, which is 50% higher than the same period of the previous year, according to data from the Fish Union cited by TASS.

Fish supplies also increased by 50% in monetary terms, reaching $9.3 million.

The import of frozen Pacific mackerel increased most noticeably (by two times) both in physical and monetary terms, reaching 4.3 thousand tons worth $5.3 million.

At the same time, the supply of frozen oilfish decreased by 15% in physical terms and increased by 5% in cost, reaching 0.8 thousand tons worth $1.9 million.

The import of frozen herring decreased by 5% in physical terms, to 0.6 thousand tons, and increased by 10% in monetary terms, to $0.6 million. The import of surimi products decreased by 15% in physical terms to 75 tons, and by 20% in monetary terms to $0.8 million.

Oyster imports increased sevenfold in physical terms, reaching 35 tons, and 14 times in monetary terms, reaching $0.19 million.
