Annual online trade volume in Russia to reach 15.2 trillion rubles

By the end of 2025, the volume of the online retail market in Russia will reach 15.2 trillion rubles, according to data from MPSTATS, an analytics service for marketplaces, reported by TASS. According to analysts, the Russian online retail market has been showing steady growth since 2019, when it stood at 1.6 trillion rubles. It is expected that by 2028, the market volume will reach 27 trillion rubles. The market grew particularly fast in the period from 2023 to 2025 in the Chelyabinsk region (13.6 times), the Sakha Republic (12.3 times), Bashkortostan (9.3 times), Tatarstan (7.8 times), and Moscow (6.8 times). Sales grew most noticeably in the categories of electronics (5 times), sports nutrition, and cosmetics (3 times). In September, 68.9% of all online sales in the country were made on platforms such as Wildberries, Ozon, and Yandex Market.
