The Arbitration Court of Moscow and the Ninth Arbitration Appeal Court have rejected the appeal of PJSC "Simpreal". Now, the company is required to pay a fine of almost 40 million rubles.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia reported today that from July 2022 to December 2023, "Simpreal", holding a dominant position in the market of clay raw materials for the production of porcelain granite, set an unjustified and monopolistically high price for its products within the Russian Federation. The price increase was unjustified because the production costs did not rise at the same rate.
The Antimonopoly Service had to intervene in the situation. They issued a directive to the company, requiring actions aimed at ensuring competition, and imposed a fine of more than 39.5 million rubles.
It has been revealed today that PJSC "Simpreal" attempted to challenge the FAS decision in two courts, but both courts sided with the service.
