On average in the Russian Federation, the average salary of prisoners involved in labor is 33 thousand rubles. This was reported by TASS with reference to Elena Dybova, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

According to Dybova, since 2019, the average salary of convicts involved in labor has increased by 125% (then it was 14.7 thousand rubles), and their labor productivity during this time has increased by 84%.

Dybova noted a turn towards involving prisoners in business processes. This is confirmed by the creation of thousands of jobs in correctional institutions, as well as an increase in contracts for a total of 800 million rubles.
