The Bank of Russia has decided to cancel the results of the popular vote on the choice of symbols for the new 500-ruble banknote. The reason was massive interference in the voting process using technical means.
According to the press service of the regulator, during the voting, a large number of attempts were recorded to artificially increase the number of votes for some objects. "This will not allow us to sum up objective results," the Central Bank stated.
However, the list of symbols offered for selection will not change. The Bank of Russia has promised to announce new voting dates in the near future, but with updated conditions.
"We have encountered a lot of attempts to increase the number of votes for some objects by technical means. We will propose new conditions that will eliminate the possibility of unfair actions," the regulator said.
