Anton Alikhanov, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, announced the start of flight tests of the fully import-substituted MC-21 medium-haul aircraft. According to him, they will begin in the near future.

"The aircraft is undergoing tests at the flight test complex and will join the flight test program in the near future," Interfax quoted him as saying.

The fully import-substituted MC-21 was scheduled to be sent on its first flight in August this year. Earlier, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, announced his transition to flight tests. According to him, all certification flights should be completed by the end of 2026. After that, the aircraft will be mass-produced.
