Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that lowering the income threshold from 60 million to 10 million rubles for businesses to pay VAT would help curb illegal schemes such as splitting up businesses to avoid taxes. He told TASS about this.

- The purpose of this measure is to combat business fragmentation and, consequently, tax evasion. It is estimated that companies with a turnover of 10 million rubles and below lose the economic sense of splitting up their business," Siluanov stressed.
