The Russian economy is in a planned cooling phase, and the task for the next three years will be to "soften" monetary policy. This was stated by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov during the Moscow Financial Forum.

- The issues of stimulating or cooling the economy relate to the financial authorities, primarily to the budget and the PREP. Therefore, when we reported to the president on the budget policy for three years, the task was to ensure that the budget helped to soften the current PREP," the minister said.

He stressed that the two instruments that affect finances are the budget and banks, acting through the rate and budget impulse.
