If Moscow is deprived of its sources of income, the conflict in Ukraine will end within two to three months. To do this, European countries must increase pressure on countries that continue to purchase Russian oil. This opinion was voiced by the head of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, in an interview with Reuters.
"I guarantee that if Europe imposes serious secondary duties on Russian oil buyers, the conflict will be resolved in 60 or 90 days," Bessent stressed.
According to him, the United States is ready to cooperate with European countries to tighten sanctions against Russian companies such as Rosneft and Lukoil. The possibility of using frozen Russian assets is also being discussed.
Earlier, the US administration called on the G7 countries to impose high duties on goods from China and India that continue to purchase oil from the Russian Federation.
