The price of diesel in wholesale rose to the maximum since the beginning of the year

Wholesale prices for diesel fuel increased by 5.5% over the week, to 66.36 thousand rubles per ton, updating the maximum since the beginning of the year and approaching the historical records of August 2023 (then fuel cost 67.11 thousand rubles per ton). This is reported by "Kommersant".

Market participants explain the dynamics by unscheduled shutdowns of refineries, as well as the warm September extended the demand for summer diesel. Sales of summer diesel fuel increased to 40.39 thousand tons on September 15, which is 10% more than the previous trading day. At the same time, sales of winter fuel grades on the stock exchange increased by 18.1%, to 22.49 thousand tons.

Further price dynamics will depend on the restoration of production capacities, where delays may cause a new price increase on the stock exchange.
