In the southern regions of the country, sunflower yields are falling. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the report of the analytical center Sovecon.

The yield of sunflower seeds in the south of Russia this season amounted to 1.17 tons per hectare. Compared to last year, the decrease is 35.4%, which is the lowest value in the last 13 years. In some areas of the Krasnodar Territory and the Rostov region, crop yields are expected to decrease by 50% year-on-year. Experts attribute this to unfavorable weather - heat and lack of rain.

Overall, the forecast for the sunflower harvest in 2025 has been lowered by 2.8% to 17.4 million tons.
