The preliminary list of cars allowed to work in a taxi has been announced.

A preliminary list of vehicles that may be approved for use in taxi transportation under the new law has become known. The list of permitted cars was announced «Kommersant» with reference to informed sources.

Thus, Lada, Moskvich, Evolute, as well as Haval, Sollers and Solaris models fall under the law on the localization level of cars. It may also include some Voyah models, such as Free and Dream. According to sources, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will submit the final list by the end of this year. It is assumed that the possibility of updating this list will be provided.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law establishing requirements for taxi localization. To be included in the taxi registry, a car must meet the localization level for public procurement or be produced under an investment contract concluded no later than March 1, 2025 (after that - only as an exception and by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers). The law will enter into force on March 1, 2026.
