In Russia, as of September 1, 2025, the number of car dealerships and showrooms amounted to 7,284 locations. During the year, their number decreased by an average of 9%. About this with reference to the data of the "Yandex Maps" service" informed Forbes.
At the same time, the number of car dealerships and showrooms decreased by almost 30% in some cities. In particular, Rostov-on-Don recorded the largest drop (-29.3%, to 94 points). Voronezh (-18.8%, to 65 locations), Volgograd (-18.3%, to 58 locations), Samara (-18.2%, to 117 locations), Krasnoyarsk (-17.2%, to 96 locations), St. Petersburg (-17.6%, to 365 locations) and Moscow (-11.1%, up to 706 points).
According to market participants, about a third of dealers are experiencing serious financial difficulties or are on the verge of ceasing operations altogether. This was facilitated by a lack of demand for new cars, an oversaturation of the market, as well as rising costs, in particular credit rates and recycling fees.
