Experts attribute this dynamic to a strong rise in the price of butter. According to Rosstat, by the beginning of September, its cost reached 1.2 thousand rubles per 1 kg. Since the beginning of the year, oil has risen in price by 38%. In this regard, some consumers abandoned butter in favor of vegetable oil, whose sales increased by 0.3% year-on-year.
Manufacturers explain the rise in butter prices by increasing the cost of its production. Only raw milk rose in price by 23.1% over the year. Expenses for warehouse services and logistics were added to this.
Overall, butter production continues to grow. In January-July, it was produced in the amount of 201 thousand tons, which is 4.2% higher than the same period last year.
