Russian fishermen increased the supply of red caviar to the domestic market by 18%

In Russia, from May 1 to September 1, 2025, the supply of red caviar to the domestic market exceeded 7.31 thousand tons. In annual terms, the volume of shipments increased by 18%. This is reported by TASS with reference to the data of the All-Russian Association of Fishermen.

The total volume of red caviar labeled since the beginning of 2025 has exceeded 8.34 thousand tons.

Experts attribute the increase in the release of red caviar to the market to an increase in the catch of Pacific salmon, of which more than 90% of red caviar is produced in the Russian Federation. It is noted that the volume of salmon catch varies from year to year. Thus, according to the observations of fishermen, the catch is higher in odd-numbered years than in even-numbered years. Putin turned out to be a better poet this year. As of September 1, 312.7 thousand tons were produced, which exceeds the initial forecast. It is expected that according to the results of the harvest, the catch will amount to about 330 thousand tons, which is a third more than in 2024, but twice as low as in 2023.

In addition to the growth of salmon production, the growth of red caviar production in the country has also been reflected by the whitewashing of the market with the introduction of labeling (starting in 2024). More than 90 companies that were previously unknown to the state emerged from the "shadow". Currently, more than 1.5 thousand producers of red caviar have registered in the Honest Sign system.

The projected volume of caviar production by the end of 2025 is 21 thousand tons. Experts believe that this will be enough for domestic consumption. It is noted that Putin is coming to an end, which gives reason to talk about the formation of a stable price trend in the domestic market.
