From October, Russians will be able to receive social payments in digital rubles.

Starting from October 2025, a new form of receiving social benefits will appear in Russia - in digital rubles. To use the new currency, you will need to install the application of the servicing bank and provide consent to open a digital account.

The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Central Bank, will determine a list of expenses that can be paid in digital rubles. This list may include various social benefits from the state.

The Ministry of Finance notes several important advantages of using digital rubles. First, it will increase the transparency of budget funds and strengthen financial control. Secondly, all transactions with digital rubles will be fully traceable - from the sender to the recipient.

At the moment, a specific list of social benefits available in digital rubles has not yet been published.
