The Max messenger will become mandatory for pre-installation on smartphones and tablets.

Starting from September 1, the Max messenger will be included in the list of programs required for pre-installation on all smartphones and tablets sold in the country. This is reported by the Government of the Russian Federation.

In the list of programs required for pre-installation, Max will replace VK Messenger, which has been on it since 2023.

Starting from September 1, the domestic RuStore app store will become mandatory for pre-installation not only on devices running Android and HarmonyOS operating systems, but also for devices using iOS and HyperOS operating systems.
