The State Duma Committee approved amendments on fines for transferring subscriber numbers to third parties

The State Duma Committee on State Construction approved amendments to impose fines for transferring subscriber numbers to third parties bypassing the terms of the communications services agreement. Amendments have been made to the draft law on fines in the freight forwarding sector and have passed the first reading stage.

The amount of fines will be differentiated depending on the status of the violator. For example, citizens will pay from 30,000 to 50,000 rubles; individual entrepreneurs from 50,000 to 100,000 rubles; and legal entities from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles.

Transferring the number for personal purposes will not be considered a violation. Penalties are provided only in cases where the transfer of the number is carried out in violation of the terms of the contract with the telecom operator.
