Special Representative of Donald Trump Stephen Witkoff proposed lifting sanctions against Russia in the energy sector. This was reported by Politico, citing sources.

However, not everyone in the administration supports this idea. For example, Interior Minister Douglas Bergam wants Russia to withdraw from the energy market.

Because of these disagreements, disputes arise in the administration, the newspaper notes.

Earlier, Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Channel One that Moscow and Washington are discussing Nord Streams. He added that it would be useful if the United States could influence Europe and convince it to continue buying Russian gas.
