On June 6, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation met, during which a decision was made on the amount of the key rate. Thus, the regulator lowered the rate by 1 percentage point to 20%.

Let us remind you that most analysts talked about maintaining the rate, but about a third expected it to decrease. Economist Evgeny Kogan stated that money market rates indicated a decrease of 1 percentage point and another decrease of 1 percentage point in July.

Let us also remind you that the key rate of 21% was set by the Central Bank in October 2024 and has remained unchanged since then.
