According to preliminary data, corporate lending increased by 1.2% in May. This information was provided by Olga Polyakova, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, at the 7th Congress of the Association of Banks of Russia. The deputy chairman said that in the four months of 2025, that is, from January to April, corporate loans increased by about 1%. By the end of May, this indicator will be around 1.2%.
Polyakova also said that the banking sector continues to maintain stability, despite pressure in the form of sanctions. By the end of this year, the Central Bank expects near-zero growth in consumer loans. At the same time, according to April data, the consumer loan portfolio decreased to -0.7%, and according to March data - to -0.2%.>
