Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that a new round of Russian-Ukrainian talks would be announced in the near future. He made his statement during the 13th international meeting of high-level representatives in charge of security issues organized in Moscow.

According to Lavrov, in the second round of negotiations, Russia intends to seek the repeal of all discriminatory laws in force on Ukrainian territory. The diplomat noted that the Russian negotiators raised this issue at the first round in Istanbul, as well as the fact that discrimination against the Russian-speaking population is one of the key topics. At the same time, Russia will take a principled position on this issue.

Quoting the UN Charter, Lavrov recalled that "it is necessary to respect the territorial integrity of all states whose governments do not violate the principle of self-determination of peoples, and therefore represent the entire population living in this territory."
