The head of the Ministry of Transport of Buryatia was detained on suspicion of corruption

A loud corruption scandal broke out in Ulan-Ude on the morning of May 12. Alexander Goge, Minister of Transport of Buryatia, was detained by law enforcement officers, the press service of the regional government reported. The official was detained on suspicion of corruption crimes, namely, receiving large bribes.

The reaction of the local authorities gives a special flavor to the situation. Vyacheslav Sukhorukov, Deputy Prime Minister, frankly admitted that the administration actually expected this arrest and actively cooperated with the security forces.

Insiders claim that Goge was under the thumb of the operatives for quite a long time. Investigative actions are currently underway.
