The EU will put into effect the first package of retaliatory measures against the United States

On April 15, the European Union will put into effect the first package of retaliatory measures against the United States. If there is no progress in the negotiations, a second package of measures will follow, which will be introduced on May 15. This is reported by TASS with reference to the European Commission.

The day before, EU trade ministers discussed in Brussels retaliatory measures against the United States for the imposition of trade duties, including 20 percent on goods from the European Union.

"Let us remind you that US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of mutual import duties. The basic minimum rate will be 10%. At the same time, the tariff for each country will be individual and equal to half of the rate that these countries apply to American goods.The customs duty with the EU is set at 20%.
