In Russia, a ban is imposed on the placement of advertising materials on resources belonging to organizations recognized as extremist and undesirable. The relevant law was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It is prohibited to distribute advertisements both on the websites of such organizations and on their social networks. Both advertisers and distributors of advertisements will be responsible for violating the ban. The fine for individuals will be 2.5 thousand rubles, for officials - 20 thousand rubles, for legal entities - 500 thousand rubles. The innovation will take effect on September 1, 2025. A month earlier, the President of the Russian Federation imposed a ban on the distribution of advertising on the information resources of foreign agents.
