Baltika has abandoned its plans to acquire two regional beer producers, Bulgarpivo and Bouquet of Chuvashia. This is reported by «Kommersant»lt;/a>.
According to the newspaper, the deal fell through due to the fact that the parties could not agree on a price. The total value of the assets was estimated at 2.7 billion rubles. At the same time, experts say, the potential buyer was interested not so much in buying beer bottling lines from regional producers as in buying malt processing facilities owned by them. It is noted that Bulgarpivo and Bouquet of Chuvashia are quite large producers by regional standards, but their share in the total beer production in the country is no more than 1%.
