In 2024, Russian courts fined the American company Google LLC four times for a total amount of 15.1 million rubles.

According to TASS, with reference to Roskomnadzor, the reasons for the fines were the failure to remove extremist information, fakes, materials with calls for mass riots, as well as VPN services from YouTube video hosting and other illegal content.

In 2025, on February 17, the Tagansky Court of Moscow also fined Google another 3 million 800 thousand rubles for distributing illegal content on YouTube.
