Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the outcome of the talks in Riyadh, noting that the United States was represented by "completely different people" without bias and condemnation.". According to him, the main objective of the meeting was to increase trust.
"Without increasing the level of trust between the Russian Federation and the United States, it is impossible to resolve the Ukrainian crisis," he said. Putin said that Russia is ready to return to the negotiating table on Ukraine, stressing that Moscow has never refused negotiations, unlike Europe and Ukraine, which themselves stopped and "forbade themselves" contacts with Moscow. He said that he would be happy to meet with Trump, but that he needed to prepare for this meeting. There is no need for intermediaries in the dialogue between the Russian Federation and the United States, the president noted.
