For the first time, Russia will launch satellites into low-Earth orbit that will enable the use of inter-satellite laser and 5G communications, the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation informs.

Broadband satellite communications will be used in the field of transport, passenger and freight transportation, the oil industry, the electric power industry, industrial production, agriculture, and will also ensure the interaction of operational and emergency services.

The Russian aerospace company Bureau 1440 will become the developer and operator of the domestic satellite constellation for high-speed data transmission with global coverage.

By the end of 2027, it is planned to launch more than 250 Russian-designed and manufactured spacecraft into orbit.
