A guar gum production plant will be built in the Tyumen region, informs DK.RU with reference to the regional government information center.

1.5 billion rubles will be spent on the organization of production. An investor is currently being sought for the project. The regional investment agency promised to provide a site for the construction of the plant without bidding. The Investment Policy Department stressed that this is the only such project in the Tyumen region at the moment.

Guar gum is produced from the fruits of the pea tree. Polysaccharide is widely used in the oil and gas industry to improve the efficiency of oil production by hydraulic fracturing, as well as in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The main producer is India.

Earlier, representatives of Vostokinnotech announced plans to organize polysaccharide production in Russia. Guar gum will be produced from raw materials grown by farmers in the south of Russia.
