The amount of counterfeit money in the Russian Federation has reached its lowest level in recent years - Central Bank

In 2024, the amount of counterfeit money reached its lowest level in recent years. So, over the past year, over 8 thousand counterfeit banknotes were discovered, of which 64% were banknotes with a face value of 5 thousand rubles, the press service of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation reported.

In addition, 1,875 counterfeit banknotes of foreign countries, mainly US dollars, were identified, which accounted for 93% of the total number of counterfeit foreign currencies, the press service added.
