Civil servants in the Russian Federation may be banned from using foreign messengers

In Russia, it is planned to change many laws to more effectively combat cybercriminals. The Government will discuss amendments to these laws in the near future. Among the proposed measures: employees of government agencies, banks, the Central Bank and telecom operators will be prohibited from using foreign messengers for work communication or communication with clients.

Mandatory labeling of calls from organizations will also be introduced to make it clear that they are coming from the company, as well as calls from international numbers.

People will be able to opt out of receiving promotional calls and messages.

Government agencies involved in investigations will be able to request information from telecom operators.

Mandatory biometric identification will be required to receive statements from credit bureaus and remotely issue microloans.
