In Russia, the production of tires for passenger cars increased by 13%

In 2024, Russia produced up to 34.6 million tires for passenger cars, an increase of 13% year-on-year. This is reported by «Kommersant&/a> with reference to the data of the CRPT (operator of the Honest Mark marking system).

Production of summer tires increased by 21.4% to 14.6 million units, all-season tires - by 11.4% to 1.3 million units, studded winter tires - by 8% to 12.8 million units, non-studded winter tires - by 2.3% to 5 million units.

Market participants call this result the best since 2022, but the market still has not returned to the 2021 figures. The key factors contributing to the production growth were the restart of former foreign factories in Russia, as well as a significant increase in new car sales last year. Thus, according to Autostat, 1.57 million new passenger cars were sold in the country over the past year, which is 48.4% year-on-year.
