Russians have become more likely to eat in fast food establishments than in restaurants and cafes. The average check for fast food in 2024 increased by 10% and exceeded 600 rubles, RBC informs with reference to analysts of the resource "Check Index" from the operator of fiscal data "OFD Platform".

The increase in attendance is due to the unwillingness of consumers to cook and an increase in income in the regions. In Moscow, fast food expenses averaged 649 rubles. This is 11% more than in 2023 (584 rubles).

Analysts at RBC Market Research believe that fast food has outperformed many other segments of the catering market. This led, among other things, to a reduction in the difference between the expenses of Russians in fast food establishments and restaurants in the middle price segment with service.
