Regular flights between Russia and Abkhazia are planned to be launched by the beginning of the summer season. This was stated by Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit at a meeting with Abkhaz politician Badra Gunba.
The first test flight to the reconstructed Sukhumi Airport is scheduled for February 7.
The Russian airline YUVT Aero will operate flights to the capital of Abkhazia. Also, as Starovoit noted, at least two other airlines have expressed interest in this route.
