In December 2024, the share of microloans in the total volume of lending to the population reached a record 70%. This is due to limited access to bank loans and the growing demand for quick payday loans. The average amount of a microloan in 2024 was 9.5 thousand 10.2 thousand rubles.
Many clients who are not approved by banks turn to MFIs, which increases the number of microloans. Banks also redirect refuseniks to affiliated MFIs. New regulatory changes are expected in 2025, which may slow down the growth of the microcredit market and reduce the availability of microloans.
