The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against the deputy governor of the Rostov region, Lilia Fedotova. The official is suspected of abuse of authority in the implementation of the financial and credit policy of the region. This was reported by the press service of the department.
According to the investigation, in 2020, Fedotova unreasonably attracted loans from a commercial bank totaling 12 billion rubles at a rate of more than 6% per annum for the needs of the Rostov region. At the same time, there were free financial balances in the regional budget.
Thus, she violated the requirements of the regional debt policy for attracting government loans or commercial loans at lower rates.
The damage to the rugby budget in 2020-2023 from her actions amounted to 1.9 billion rubles. These funds were used to service and pay interest on loans.
