Sergey Bivol, Deputy head of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Eastern District of Moscow, was sent to jail as part of a criminal case involving bribing Sergei Anokhin, ex-head of the Fonbet betting company, to an official from law enforcement agencies. This decision was made by the Tverskoy Court of Moscow.

Bivol was placed in custody for two months, until March 29.

The investigation believes that Bivol acted as one of the intermediaries in transferring money from the businessman to the FSB officer. Bivol took 2.5 million rubles for his services. He fully admitted his guilt.

According to TASS, the police managed to establish the offense and identify the chain of its participants due to the fact that one of the intermediaries and an FSB officer who was entitled to a bribe took part in an operational experiment.
