In December 2024, the share of microloans among all loans issued in Russia reached a record high of 70%. A year earlier, this figure was much lower - 47.4%. Microfinance organizations (MFIs) are actively taking the place of banks, as they have begun to issue fewer loans.

The share of consumer loans in the total volume of new loans decreased to 15.1%, and mortgage loans to 31.4%. This is due to the fact that banks are faced with new restrictions and stricter rules that prevent them from actively issuing loans.

Unlike banks, MFIs continue to actively provide loans despite high interest rates. They can issue medium-term loans at high interest rates - up to 280-284% per annum.
