Over the past year, the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange increased its net profit by 79%, to 6.797 billion rubles. These preliminary results of the year were announced by the head of the trading platform Igor Artemyev, calling the result "fantastic".

He noted that the growth in operating income for the reporting period amounted to 66%, to 11.89 billion rubles, including interest income - up to 6.39 billion rubles (an increase of 2.3 times). According to Artemyev, a significant part of the income was generated by inflation.

- Like banks, we also make profits at high interest rates. Because some of the money is in circulation, we can deposit it at a high rate. As a result, we have a 133% increase in interest payments from those short deposits where we send money. And here is a fantastic result, a crazy 79% increase in net profit," Interfax quoted Artemyev as saying.

It was noted that by the end of 2024, the total trading turnover in all sections of the trading platform in monetary terms reached 2.33 trillion rubles, which is 31.9% higher than in 2023.
