In January — September 2024, the number of mutual trips between Russia and Iran increased by 21% year on year. Such data was prepared by the press service of the President of the Russian Federation for the meeting of the leaders of the two countries scheduled for today: Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Massoud Peseshkian.

In total, 63,000 mutual tourist visits were made during the specified period. It was noted that a visa-free regime for organized tourist groups has been in effect between Russia and Iran since 2023.
